Meet the dedicated individuals guiding our mission to uplift foster youth and families.

Tony & Brandy Mitchell
Founders & Spiritual Leaders
Our Story
Tony and Brandy Mitchell have dedicated their lives to serving children, families, and their community. For five years, they served faithfully as youth pastors, mentoring and guiding young people in their walk with Christ. In 2022, they opened their hearts and home as foster parents through Calhoun County DHR. Through these experiences, God opened their eyes to the deep and ongoing needs within the foster care system — not just for children, but also for the families who love and care for them.
Our Mission
Out of that calling, YES – Your Empowerment Source was born. Tony and Brandy’s mission is to empower, equip, and encourage foster, adoptive, kinship, and guardianship families through faith-based support and practical resources. Their desire is to stand in the gap — offering counseling, education, mentorship, and community programs that help families handle life’s challenges with strength, grace, and faith.
Our Family
Tony and Brandy are proud parents to eight wonderful children of their own (bio and adopted) and six amazing foster children who have become part of their family through love and faith. Their home is full of laughter, purpose, and the presence of God. Each child — biological, adopted, or foster — is a reminder of the power of love and the importance of providing a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
At the heart of everything they do is a simple truth:
Loving on a child today is investing in their future tomorrow.
“The Family That Said Yes”
When Tony and Brandy opened their home to foster care, they didn’t know exactly what to expect. While still raising their own children, God began stirring something deeper in their hearts, a call to love children who had been placed in difficult situations and were in need of hope.
With every placement came new experiences and new challenges. Some children arrived carrying fear, anger, confusion, or sadness. Others felt a quiet sense of relief. No matter what each child brought with them, Tony and Brandy made it their mission to provide peace. Every night, they tucked the children into bed, prayed over them, and reminded them that they were safe and loved. Over time, their house became a home of healing.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Their home is filled with laughter, the hum of homework, and the sound of little hands learning to pray. There were difficult days too, court dates, tears, and painful goodbyes, but Tony and Brandy always reminded each other, “Love is never wasted.”
As the years pass, more children come through their doors. Some stay only a few days, while others find a forever home. Each one carries a story, and each one finds hope in a family who simply said “yes.”
When people ask why they foster, Tony and Brandy smile and say, “Because we were called to be a father and mother to many. Every child who walks through our door reminds us that love, God’s love, changes everything.”
And in that Alabama home, love keeps multiplying, one “yes” at a time.
Empowering Families Where They Are
At YES, we begin by meeting families where they are. Many of the families we serve are weary, overwhelmed, or struggling to provide for children who have come from difficult places. We believe that showing God’s love through acts of support, listening, and encouragement is a powerful form of ministry. Whether we are helping with clothing, counseling, or connecting families to community resources, each moment presents an opportunity to demonstrate Christ’s grace. James 2:17 reminds us that “faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” We take that to heart by turning faith into action every day.

Building Stronger Futures Through Compassionate Care
At YES – Your Empowerment Source, we believe every child and family deserves the opportunity to thrive. Through compassionate care, we walk alongside foster, adoptive, kinship, and safety plan families, providing the resources and support they need to build brighter futures. From counseling and parenting classes to clothing closets, youth mentorship, and community events, our goal is to strengthen families with love, guidance, and hope. By meeting practical needs and nurturing emotional and spiritual growth, YES helps families heal, grow, and succeed, because when we care with compassion, we don’t just change lives today; we empower stronger futures for tomorrow.
